JOB DESCRIPTION

Chef – Indian Cuisine

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka | Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Indian cuisine — both North and South Indian — and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment.


Key Responsibilities

•       Prepare and cook a wide variety of North and South Indian dishes as per the restaurant's menu

•       Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards

•       Manage mise en place and ensure kitchen is fully prepped before service

•       Maintain portion control and minimize food wastage

•       Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols (FSSAI guidelines)

•       Assist in menu planning and suggest seasonal specials

•       Coordinate with the kitchen team for smooth service during peak hours

•       Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to the Head Chef or manager

•       Keep the kitchen and workstation clean and organized at all times


Requirements

Experience & Skills

•       2–5 years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant setting

•       Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional cuisines

•       Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods

•       Good understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene

•       Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Qualifications

•       Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management preferred (not mandatory)

•       FSSAI food safety awareness is a plus
