Job Description
- Assist senior staff and your counterparts in daily food preparation and cooking.
- Wash, peel, cut, chop, and portion vegetables and other ingredients as required.
- Prepare ingredients and basic food items according to the menu and kitchen requirements.
- Assist in preparing Gujarati dishes, snacks, curries, gravies, and other menu items as assigned.
- Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and food preparation procedures.
- Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of food orders.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow proper food storage, labelling, and stock rotation practices, including FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety practices and personal hygiene standards at all times.
- Check ingredient availability and inform the supervisor about shortages or stock requirements.
- Minimise food wastage and use ingredients responsibly.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies.
- Follow instructions from the head chef or kitchen supervisor and work collaboratively with the team.
- Support kitchen closing activities, including cleaning and organising the workstation.
