Job Description
- JOB DESCRIPTION – COMMIS 3 & COMMIS 2COMMIS 3Assist in basic food preparation and daily mise-en-place.
- Wash, peel, cut, chop and portion ingredients as instructed.
- Assist senior kitchen staff during preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation and equipment.
- Follow recipes, SOPs, food safety and grooming standards.
- Minimise food wastage and maintain proper storage of ingredients.
- Support the kitchen team as required.
- COMMIS 2Handle food preparation and mise-en-place independently as assigned.
- Prepare basic dishes, sauces, gravies and other kitchen items as per recipes.
- Ensure proper portioning, taste, quality and presentation.
- Guide and assist Commis 3 in daily preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and proper food storage.
- Follow FIFO, SOPs and food safety standards.
- Support the senior chef during service and ensure timely preparation.
- Monitor ingredient requirements and report shortages to the senior chef.
- RequirementsBasic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Good teamwork, discipline and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Commis 3: Fresher – 2 years' experience.
- Commis 2: 1 – 3 years' relevant kitchen experience.
