Job Description
Video Editor
Experience: 2–4 Years
Company: ScaleUp Motion Media LLP
About ScaleUp:
ScaleUp is an integrated growth partner working with ambitious businesses across strategy, branding, creative production, digital marketing, campaigns and growth execution. Our work connects strategic thinking with strong creative execution, including original photography, video, campaign content and digital communication.
We are building a creative team that doesn't simply "produce content" — it understands the idea, the audience and the business objective behind every piece of communication.
We are looking for a Video Editor with 2–4 years of professional experience who can bring stories to life through sharp editing, strong visual judgement and contemporary production techniques.
The Role as a Video Editor at ScaleUp:
You will work across a diverse range of projects — from brand films, digital campaigns, corporate videos and social media content for clients to ScaleUp's own podcasts, interviews and thought-leadership content.
You should be equally comfortable shaping a longer narrative and turning the same content into a compelling 30-second reel.
This is not a role for someone who only knows how to operate editing software. We are looking for someone who can think like a storyteller, edit like a craftsperson and understand how video needs to perform across different platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit high-quality videos for client campaigns, brand communication, digital content, social media, corporate films and marketing initiatives.
- Handle end-to-end post-production for ScaleUp's internal podcast and video content, including multi-camera edits, audio synchronisation, visual treatment, graphics, intros/outros and final mastering.
- Convert long-form podcast and interview content into engaging short-form reels, clips, teasers and social-first edits.
- Work closely with Creative Directors, strategists, designers, photographers and production teams to translate concepts and scripts into strong visual narratives.
- Create edits with a strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, rhythm, emotion and audience retention.
- Undertake colour correction and grading to maintain a polished and consistent visual language.
- Work with sound design, music, voiceovers, SFX and audio enhancement to improve the overall viewing experience.
- Create titles, supers, transitions, basic motion graphics and other visual elements required within an edit.
- Adapt master content intelligently across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, websites, digital advertisements and other formats.
- Organise project files, footage, audio, graphics and versions efficiently and maintain proper archival standards.
- Work across multiple client brands while respecting each brand's individual visual identity and communication style.
- Collaborate during pre-production wherever required to provide an editor's perspective on shot planning, transitions and storytelling possibilities.
- Keep up with evolving editing styles, video formats, AI-assisted production workflows and contemporary visual trends — without allowing trends to compromise the quality of the story.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
Adobe Premiere Pro — Mandatory
Strong hands-on proficiency in professional video editing and post-production.
DaVinci Resolve — Mandatory
Working knowledge of editing, colour correction and colour grading.
Candidates should also have a strong understanding of:
- Multi-camera editing
- Colour correction and grading
- Audio synchronisation and basic audio treatment
- Sound design
- Titles, supers and transitions
- Short-form and long-form video editing
- Aspect-ratio adaptation and platform-specific exports
- Codecs, resolutions, frame rates and delivery formats
- Media organisation and project management
Added Advantages:
- CGI video creation
- Final Cut Pro (FCP)
- Motion graphics / Adobe After Effects
- Advanced colour grading
- Animation and compositing
- AI-assisted video and post-production tools
- Experience working on podcasts, branded content, advertising films or commercial shoots
What We Are Looking For:
We would like to meet someone who has:
- 2–4 years of relevant professional video-editing experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both creative sensibility and technical competence
- A natural understanding of visual storytelling rather than template-driven editing
- Strong sense of composition, pacing, music and narrative flow
- Ability to understand a creative brief and contribute ideas rather than simply wait for editing instructions
- Attention to detail — from frame selection and cuts to typography, sound and colour
- Ability to work across different industries, brands and communication styles
- Ability to manage timelines and multiple projects without compromising quality
- Openness to feedback and the ability to improve an edit through collaborative creative reviews
- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new formats, tools and production techniques
What Makes This Role Interesting at ScaleUp:
You won't be editing the same kind of content every day.
One project could be a brand campaign for a client, another a founder interview, another a fast-paced social film, and the next could be a professionally produced podcast or thought-leadership series.
You will get exposure to the complete creative process — from concept and production to post-production and final market execution — and have the opportunity to contribute creatively rather than operate purely as a backend editor.
We are looking for someone who wants to build a strong body of work, sharpen their craft and grow with a developing creative organisation.
To Apply - Please share:
1. Updated CV
2. Portfolio / Showreel — Mandatory
3. Links to 3–5 pieces of work you believe best represent your editing skills
4. Current CTC
5. Expected CTC
6. Notice Period / Earliest Joining Date
Important:
Applications without a portfolio/showreel may not be considered.
