3M Commercial Solutions segment, is a part of Commercial Branding and Transportation Division, delivers comprehensive products and solutions, so you can deliver a consistent brand identity across all verticals from Banking, Rail, fleet, facilities and all-important touch points creating a memorable brand experience.

3M Commercial Solutions segment offers training and services to help customers and channel partners to use and convert 3M products effectively. The solutions provided by the channel partners are backed by 3M by way of a warranty to the end customer.  3M also connects with end users and influencers to help them select the correct product solutions that meet their requirements most effectively. An application engineer helps the customer and the sales team to recommend an appropriate product as per the customer expectation. For an application engineer to be effective he must be able to carry out the below-mentioned responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

o   Understand in depth 3M’s offering and use that knowledge to help achieve objectives for the division.

o   Meeting brand owners, channel partners, and end customers, guiding them with the right product and generating specifications to help them procure the appropriate material

o   Lead technical engagement with key customers and channel partners.

o   Understand market trends, collaborate with internal team to work on new product ideas, technology and  product development.

o   Travel domestically.

o   Work at customer locations and sites.

o   Have positive attitude and willingness to learn. Be a team player and work in collaboration with 3M employees and channel partners.

 

 

Qualifications

A graduate or postgraduate preferably in Polymer science / Chemistry / Materials Science background with below mentioned qualities:

o   Strong verbal and written communication skills.

o   Have knowledge on self-adhesive films, polymer chemistry, formulations.  

o   Product development and lab testing skills, should be conversant with new product commercialization process.

o   Strong planning and organization skills.

o   Ability to understand technical subject matter or willingness to learn.

o   Proficient with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other related software programs.
