Your Role

Owns the functional-safety software backlog and ensures safety work, enabling features and evidence are planned and delivered with program milestones. 

RFQ / Concept 

Define safety-software scope, backlog structure and milestone outcomes. 

Planning / Architecture 

Plan work products, dependencies, reviews and acceptance criteria. 

Implementation / Integration 

Prioritize delivery and resolve scope/timing conflicts without weakening safety obligations. 

Verification / Release 

Accept work using review, traceability and verification evidence. 

Production / Operations 

Prioritize safety anomalies, lifecycle changes and reusable improvements. 

Key responsibilities 

• Translate safety plans, requirements and analyses into prioritized backlog items. 

• Balance safety integrity, customer commitments, architecture dependencies and delivery capacity. 

• Define objective acceptance criteria including traceability and evidence. 

• Coordinate system, hardware, software, validation and confirmation-measure dependencies. 

• Track work-product maturity, open safety anomalies and release readiness. 

EDUCATION  B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline 

EXPERIENCE  8–13 years 

Your Background

Required competencies 

• Technical product ownership or safety project experience in automotive embedded development. 

• Working knowledge of ISO 26262, ASIL, software safety lifecycle, Agile and Automotive SPICE. 

• Requirements, planning, dependency management and evidence-based acceptance. 

Preferred competencies 

• Functional safety certification, ALM analytics, SEooC and SOTIF awareness.

• Safety backlog and roadmap 

• Acceptance criteria 

• Work-product maturity plan 

• Dependency/risk log 

• Release-readiness metrics
