About EY GDS Brand, Marketing & Communications

EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) is pioneering a modern, insight-driven marketing ecosystem that seamlessly connects our brand with diverse audiences through the power of data, creativity, and technology. Our mission is to advance EY’s purpose of shaping the future with confidence by delivering consistent, measurable, and impactful brand experiences on a global scale, driving meaningful engagement and business growth.

Opportunity

The Executive and Leadership Communications Associate Director will lead two connected areas of responsibility: dedicated executive communications for the Global Vice Chair (GVC), and the broader leadership communications agenda across GDS. The role will translate leadership priorities into clear, authentic and audience-centric narratives that build alignment, trust and engagement. Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, the role will serve as a senior communications adviser to the GVC and other senior leaders, while ensuring executive communications are integrated with the broader GDS internal communications strategy, editorial calendar and governance framework.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong executive counsel, narrative development, leadership platform management and the ability to manage sensitive, high-stakes communication in a complex global matrix. The role will lead a small team responsible for executive and leadership communications, providing strategic direction, allocating priorities and maintaining accountability for quality, consistency, measurement and impact.

Key responsibilities

GVC executive communications and counsel

  • Own and execute the GVC executive communications strategy, narrative and annual roadmap, aligned with GDS business priorities and the overarching internal communications strategy.
  • Serve as the dedicated communications adviser to the GVC, providing counsel on messaging, sequencing, stakeholder engagement, leadership visibility and organizational context.
  • Translate complex business priorities, transformation agendas and leadership decisions into clear, credible and actionable communications for diverse employee audiences.
  • Anticipate communication opportunities, risks and stakeholder concerns, and recommend proactive approaches that protect trust and strengthen leadership credibility.
  • Lead communications for high-stakes, sensitive and time-critical matters, including organizational change, issues and crisis situations.

Broader leadership communications

  • Define and steward the broader GDS leadership communications framework, helping senior leaders communicate with a consistent enterprise narrative while retaining an authentic individual voice.
  • Advise and support senior leaders across key internal platforms, including leadership meetings, employee webcasts, town halls, visits, announcements and transformation moments.
  • Oversee the creation of executive-ready speeches, talking points, presentations, video scripts, briefing notes, Q&A documents, cascade materials and leadership correspondence.
  • Shape communications for key business moments, including strategic announcements, transformation milestones, leadership visits and enterprise-wide events.
  • Partner with editorial, channel, creative, events and production teams to deliver high-quality, audience-centric communication experiences.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, tone, brand alignment, accessibility and cultural relevance across all deliverables.
  • Integrated planning, governance and stakeholder management
  • Integrate GVC priorities into the enterprise internal communications calendar, supporting effective sequencing, prioritization and channel choices while reducing communication overload.
  • Build strong relationships across BMC, Talent, Operations, service lines, functions and locations to align narratives, manage dependencies and enable coordinated delivery.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms, roles, review processes and escalation pathways for GVC communications.
  • Ensure compliance with EY, GDS and BMC policies, approval protocols, brand standards, data privacy requirements and communications governance.
  • Manage projects, budgets, agencies and vendors as required, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, timelines and cost expectations.
  • Team leadership and capability building
  • Lead, coach and develop a small team of communications professionals responsible for GVC executive communications and broader leadership communications, creating an inclusive, high-performing environment with clear accountability and sustainable ways of working.
  • Set team priorities, allocate portfolios and work, manage capacity, and provide constructive review to strengthen strategic thinking, writing, stakeholder management and delivery quality.
  • Build repeatable frameworks, playbooks, templates and leading practices that improve consistency, speed and effectiveness across executive communications.
  • Champion collaboration, continuous learning, responsible use of AI and innovation in communication planning and content development.

Measurement and continuous improvement

  • Define success measures for GVC communications and use data, employee feedback and stakeholder insight to assess reach, understanding, engagement and action.
  • Provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to the Head of Internal Communications and relevant senior stakeholders.
  • Use insights to optimize narratives, channels, formats and communication cadence, demonstrating the value and organizational impact of internal communications.

Qualifications and skills

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in strategic communications, marketing, or related fields; experience in professional services and complex matrix organizations.
  • Proven experience leading integrated communications initiatives with multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership advisory.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages advantageous.
  • Proficiency with business tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint), and marketing/analytics AI tools.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones with a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
  • Experience managing sensitive, change management and crisis communications.
