Metrology Lean Analyst

Job Overview

The role involves partnering with the Technical and Information Technology team to plan and support automation initiatives within the Metrology process. It includes working closely with the New Product Development, Quality, and Operations teams to improve the end-to-end dimensional metrology value stream.

Roles & Responsibility:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Product Engineering, and Global Plant Metrology Centers to support metrology improvements and resolve technical measurement challenges.
• Promote standardization, best practices, and knowledge sharing across the GDM network.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and best practices for metrology activities.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Act as a technical contact between customers, engineering teams, and metrology operations for complex measurement-related issues.
• In-depth knowledge of molding and stamping measurement strategies, measurement path optimization, datum establishment, feature evaluation, and GD&T compliance.
• Evaluate complex measurement challenges and recommend technically sound solutions that balance accuracy, repeatability, cycle time, and customer requirements.
• Facilitate alignment discussions among global stakeholders when measurement requirements, customer specifications, or inspection methodologies are in conflict.
• Support global standardization initiatives by identifying best practices and driving consistent implementation across regions.
• Support development of automated measurement routines, templates, and reporting solutions within metrology software platforms.
• Work closely with software development teams to define requirements and validate enhancements that improve measurement efficiency and user experience.
• Leverage metrology data and operational metrics to drive process improvements and increase measurement productivity.

Desired Candidate Profile:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, or related engineering field.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in Quality Control, Reliability & Assurance Function with primary focus on Metrology field
• 2+ years of experience in supervising and leading Metrology team is an advantage
• AUKOM 2 Certification Mandatory
• Knowledge of Business Analytics and Excellent communication skills

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• Competent knowledge of GD&T (ASME / ISO GPS) concepts and experience with its application in product design and validation.
• Experience of Volume Graphics VG Metrology Software Mandatory
• Strong Knowledge of the working principle of an Industrial CT Scanner, theoretical knowledge of the calibration procedure of the measurement system and the process steps of generating good quality 3D scan data
• Strong Knowledge of handling data from Coordinate Measurement Machine, Laser/White Light/CT scanning or similar Metrology Analysis
• Knowledge of Microsoft Tool such as Excel to transform, translate raw data to formatted and customized template
• Experience in the preparation of work procedures, method and training material for talent development in collaboration with subject matter experts
• Experience in digital transformation and the process automation projects is an advantage
