Planning Engineer

Job Requirements

·       Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and machinery is essential. This includes knowledge of woodworking techniques, CAD software, and familiarity with different types of furniture construction;

·       Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, interior design, or architecture. Relevant work experience at least 3 years in furniture manufacturing, production planning, Interior Decoration or Cabinetry is advantageous. Proven experience in a supervisory role within a factory or production environment;

·       Required Hard Skill(s): AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or other design software and Microsoft Office is a must;

·       Initiative: Taking proactive steps, being self-motivated, and showing a willingness to go above and beyond;

·       Language: Khmer & English is a must (Speaking Chinese will be the prioritized).

Duties & Responsibilities

·       Drawing Analysis: Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications is crucial. This involves the ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements;

·       Production Planning and Scheduling: Expertise in creating effective production plans and schedules is important. This includes determining the sequence of operations, estimating time and resource requirements, and optimizing production efficiency;

·       Production System Programming: Production system training will be provided, and the production engineer will use the system to control the production line including constructing furniture products, material planning, and production scheduling;

·       Materials Management: Knowledge of materials selection, sourcing, and inventory management is valuable. This includes assessing material availability, identifying suitable suppliers, and ensuring timely procurement to meet production demands;

·       Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the production process. This involves troubleshooting technical problems, making adjustments to production plans, and implementing corrective measures;

·       Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are vital for effectively coordinating with different stakeholders, including designers, engineers, production teams, and suppliers. Collaboration and the ability to work well in a team environment are also essential;

·       Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work is crucial to ensure accuracy in drawing analysis, material planning, production software programming and production scheduling. Paying close attention to quality control standards and specifications is important to deliver high-quality furniture products;

·       Quality Control: Monitors and enforces quality control standards throughout the production process. They conduct inspections, perform quality checks, and ensure that the finished furniture items meet the required specifications, design standards, and customer expectations;

Documentation and Reporting: Keeping accurate records and preparing reports on production output, quality control, and other key performance indicators is essential for decision-making and accountability.
