About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

As a NFR Senior Advisor - NFR Operational Risk & Resilience (Op Resilience) in Group Technology, this role leads and manages Operational and Resilience risk assessments, regulatory and policy change, and partners with business teams to sustainably design and embed risk controls into business processes, systems and data. With a focus on end‑to‑end value chains, the role provides risk insight and analysis to influence governance and decision‑making, ensures adherence to risk and compliance frameworks, and identifies and escalates control gaps where effectiveness is insufficient. The role acts as a trusted first line risk partner, managing the delivery of high‑quality 1LOD risk management and assurance, strengthening stakeholder accountability, building capability, and uplifting risk culture.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Role Type: Permanent
Role Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru

Conduct and challenge risk assessments across business processes, technology, data, third parties and end-to-end value chains, identifying material risks, control gaps and resilience vulnerabilities.
  • Design, Uplift and Embed Effective Controls
Partner with stakeholders to design, improve and integrate sustainable risk and resilience controls into business processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise frameworks, regulatory obligations and customer outcomes.
  • Provide Strategic Risk Advisory and Framework Translation
Act as a trusted risk advisor by translating risk frameworks, policies and standards into practical business outcomes, influencing stakeholders and supporting effective risk ownership.
  • Drive Risk Insight, Governance and Assurance
Leverage data, analytics and risk indicators to identify emerging risks, monitor control effectiveness, support governance forums, and drive remediation of risk and control weaknesses.
  • Enable Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management Practices
Support the implementation of regulatory and policy changes, ensure adherence to risk methodologies and escalation protocols, and identify and escalate material risk issues.
  • Build Risk Capability, Culture and Continuous Improvement
Strengthen first line risk capability through coaching, collaboration and quality review, while driving continuous improvement through lessons learned, assurance outcomes, incidents and regulatory feedback.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Risk assessment, control design and assurance capability, including evaluating control effectiveness, identifying gaps and driving remediation.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory obligations, risk frameworks, policies and standards, with the ability to translate requirements into practical business outcomes.
  • Advanced analytical and data-driven risk insight skills, including the use of ServiceNow, QlikSense, Tableau and Excel to identify trends, emerging risks and control weaknesses.
  • Governance, reporting and decision-support capability, including preparation of risk insights, management reporting and governance forum materials.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, advisory and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business, Line 2 Risk and Centres of Excellence.
  • Business process optimisation and continuous improvement capability, embedding sustainable controls while supporting efficiency, resilience and customer outcomes.
  • Leadership, planning and risk culture development skills, including prioritising competing demands, coaching others, exercising sound judgement and promoting first-line accountability.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
