Roles & responsibilities:

The position in discussion is with the SUT Compliance team in Indirect Tax Service line at KPMG Global Services (KGS). This role is an integral part of the firm’s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability, globally.:

 
•Assisting with various state and local indirect tax compliance projects
•Performing a detailed technical review of state and local indirect tax returns on engagements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual motor fuel returns to submit to the federal & state agencies.
•Preparation of reconciliations of Sales and Use tax related accounts.
•Research tax issues and work on special projects when required.
•Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants on assigned engagements.
•Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow.
•Assisting with resolution of indirect tax notices from state and local jurisdictions
•Assisting with preparation of client billings and account reconciliations.
•Assisting with drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.

Educational qualifications

•Minimum master’s degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
•Understanding of indirect taxes, 2 – 4 years of experience in Indirect Taxation

Work experience

•Total Experience- 2-4 years
•Relevant Experience- 2 – 4 years of experience in Indirect Taxation.
