Role: Senior Veeva Developer – CRM & Vault Platforms

Experience Level: 4 years and above (including 3+ years specializing in Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault) 

Work location: Mumbai, Bangalore & Trivandrum

What you’ll do:

You will be working as a Senior Veeva Developer within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences sectors. Your role will involve designing, configuring, customizing, and supporting end-to-end commercial and clinical solutions on Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault platforms. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust solutions that optimize critical business processes, ensuring compliance with GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 standards. You will leverage your expertise in Apex, Visualforce, REST/SOAP APIs, and cross-system integrations to help life sciences organizations achieve their business goals through strategic implementation of Veeva technologies. You will collaborate closely with Architects, Business Analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient Veeva solutions. 

Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Veeva Developer with deep expertise in Veeva CRM and Veeva Vault platforms. Your responsibilities will include translating technical designs and business requirements into functional and efficient code and configurations within the Veeva ecosystem. You will be a key contributor to the development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are built to best practices, performant, and maintainable, adhering to strict compliance standards.

• Develop and implement customizations, configurations, and extensions within Veeva Vault (e.g., CRM, PromoMats, eTMF, RIM, Quality Docs/QMS).
• Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Veeva platforms and other systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Partner/Enterprise WSDL, and custom integration solutions.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code using Apex and Visualforce, following industry best practices and architectural guidelines.
• Implement industry-standard security best practices for Veeva application development and integrations, including GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use within the Veeva ecosystem.
• Ensure the technical feasibility and optimal performance of UI/UX designs and proposed Veeva solutions.
• Optimize Veeva applications for maximum speed, scalability, and user experience.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members, architects, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, adherence to standards, and performance.
• Contribute to the design and development of Cloud-native / cloud-scalable solutions leveraging Azure services or other cloud platforms to complement Veeva.
• Lead technical development for AI-driven features across enterprise document repositories and Veeva Quality applications.
• Engineer intelligent automation workflows using the Vault Direct AI API to auto-classify incoming quality documents, reducing manual indexing errors and processing time.
• Program custom business logic via Vault Java SDK that calls Vault AI services to extract key data points (e.g., product names, deviation dates, batch numbers) from unstructured PDFs directly into Vault Object records.
• Optimize Prompt Engineering and contextual data payloads within Veeva Vault to leverage built-in LLM capabilities for automated deviation summaries and impact assessment drafts in Veeva QMS.
• Design and execute technical verification protocols to ensure AI-generated metadata and document outputs met stringent GxP and CSV (Computer System Validation) reliability standards.
• Develop high-efficiency VQL queries to extract specific training data and document sets, feeding them into Veeva’s AI classification models to continuously improve auto-tagging accuracy.
• Collaborate with data science and business excellence teams to replace legacy, rule-based document routing with AI-assisted lifecycle transitions and dynamic security assignments.

Good To Have:

• Expert-level understanding and hands-on experience with Veeva products 
• Expert-level understanding and hands-on experience with Veeva Vault (PromoMats, eTMF, RIM, Quality Docs/QMS), including advanced Document & Object Lifecycles, Controlled Document Workflows, Electronic Signatures, Dynamic Security Models (DAC), Rendition Profiles, and Document Types/Subtypes configuration.
• Strong experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Veeva solutions.
• Proficiency in Veeva CRM configuration and customization (page layouts, record types, validation rules, workflows, process builders).
• Expertise in developing custom Apex classes, Visualforce pages, Lightning Components, and client-side scripting for Veeva CRM.
• Deep expertise in Vault Development & Customization, including Vault Java SDK (Custom Actions, Triggers, Job Processors), Vault REST API, Vault Object Framework (VOF), and VQL (Vault Query Language).
• Proven experience with Veeva Vault AI & Automation, including Vault Direct AI API, Vault AI Services, Automated Document Classification, Auto-extraction of Metadata, AI-powered Summarization, and AI Smart Checklists.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and its integration with Veeva.
• Experience with Veeva data migration strategies and tools (Veeva Vault Loader, Salesforce Data Loader, Workbench, Ant Migration Tool, SFDX).
• Proficiency in Apex for Veeva CRM development and integration.
• Experience with integration tools and methodologies: REST/SOAP APIs, Partner/Enterprise WSDL.
• Deep understanding of GxP (GMP/GCP/GLP) and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance standards.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, preferably Git.
• Proven ability to develop and ship high-quality software products in Agile development environments.
• Accountable for end-to-end delivery of software components within Veeva platforms.
• Strong understanding of security roles, field-level security, and data access within Veeva.
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills specific to Veeva.
• Ensure compliance with best practices and policies in Veeva development and implementation.
• Closely monitor code quality during implementation and be responsible for code reviews and deliverables.
• Experience in object-oriented design skills.
• Top-notch programming skills and ability to write robust software design.
