Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Mechanical)

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance:
*Carry out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
*Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and other plant equipment.
*Perform repair, replacement, fitting, and adjustment of mechanical components.
*Inspect and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other machine components.
*Attend machine breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
*Carry out routine machine inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before breakdown.
Electrical Maintenance
*Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and other industrial equipment.
*Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical motors, control panels, wiring, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
*Perform electrical fault-finding and rectification to minimize machine and production downtime.
*Carry out routine inspection of electrical panels, cables, connections, and machine electrical systems.
*Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled machines, sensors, VFDs, and automation systems.
*Assist in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and machinery.
General Responsibilities
*Coordinate with Production and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operation of machinery.
*Perform routine preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
*Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance check sheets.
*Identify recurring equipment failures and support root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
*Ensure safe handling and proper use of maintenance tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
*Follow approved maintenance procedures, electrical safety requirements, and workplace discipline.
*Maintain proper housekeeping in maintenance areas, electrical panels, and around production equipment.
*Support machine installation, commissioning, trial runs, and improvement activities as required.
Shift Requirement
Day / Night Shift
Candidates must be willing to work in rotational shifts and attend machine breakdowns as per operational requirements.
Working Hours
8 Hours / 12 Hours, depending on production and operational requirements.
Relocation
Candidates should be willing and prepared to relocate to Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, as per the requirements of the position.
Salary
Negotiable and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
Preferred Candidate
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fitter, Electrician, Electronics, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance of industrial or manufacturing machinery will be preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, chains, fasteners, and other mechanical components.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and electrical control circuits.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machines, VFDs, and industrial automation systems will be an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
- Experience with Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), CNC machines, or automated production equipment will be an added advantage.
- Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications and a strong willingness to learn may also apply.
