Job Description
Testing Engineer – CTPT Metering Units
📍 Kalher, Thane (on-site) | Full-time
🏭 Test Field Electric Pvt. Ltd. – manufacturer of 11kV CTPT metering units and oil-cooled / resin-cast CTs and PTs
Role
Own the testing department and make sure every unit meets quality standards before dispatch.
Responsibilities
- Routine testing of CTs and PTs: ratio error, phase angle, polarity, IR, and HV withstand on an automatic CT/VT test set
- Test across accuracy classes (including 0.2S) at standard test points
- Find the root cause of test failures together with production
- Maintain test records and issue test certificates
- Do oil BDV and moisture checks; keep test equipment calibrated
- Support type testing at NABL labs
- Set up test SOPs and data logging
Requirements
- Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years in testing or QC of CT/PT or similar electrical equipment
- Strong grasp of accuracy classes and ratio/phase angle errors
- Comfortable with Excel / Google Sheets
- Able to commute to Kalher, Thane
Preferred
- Experience with automatic CT/VT test sets
- Knowledge of IEC 61869 / IS 16227, and of DISCOM/RDSS or NABL processes
