Job Description
- Office Housekeeping – Job Responsibilities1. General Cleaning & Housekeeping: Clean and maintain all office areas, including reception, workstations, cabins, meeting rooms, corridors, staircases, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors regularly.
- Dust and wipe furniture, tables, chairs, shelves, doors, partitions, and other surfaces.
- Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other accessible glass surfaces.
- Remove cobwebs from ceilings, corners, walls, and other areas.
- Ensure all office areas remain clean, hygienic, and presentable throughout the day.
- 2. Washroom Cleaning & HygieneClean and disinfect toilets, urinals, washbasins, floors, mirrors, doors, and partitions.
- Refill handwash, toilet paper, paper towels, air fresheners, and other washroom consumables.
- Maintain proper hygiene and odor control in washrooms.
- Check washrooms at regular intervals and attend to cleaning requirements immediately.
- 3. Pantry & Cafeteria CleaningClean pantry, cafeteria, dining areas, and utility areas.
- Clean tables, chairs, countertops, sinks, and floors.
- Wash and maintain cups, glasses, plates, and other designated utensils, where applicable.
- Dispose of food waste and garbage properly.
- Maintain cleanliness around refrigerators, microwaves, water dispensers, and other appliances.
- 4. Waste Management: Collect waste from dustbins at regular intervals.
- Replace garbage bags and clean waste bins.
- Transfer waste to the designated disposal area.
- Follow the client's waste-management and hygiene procedures.
- 5. Daily Office Support: Maintain cleanliness before office opening and during working hours.
- Arrange chairs, tables, and meeting rooms as required.
- Keep reception and visitor areas clean and presentable.
- Assist with serving drinking water/tea/coffee if included in the service scope.
- Support cleanliness requirements during meetings, events, and special occasions.
- 6. Periodic Cleaning: Perform periodic deep cleaning of floors, carpets, windows, furniture, and other areas.
- Clean high-level areas, ceiling corners, fans, light fixtures, and air vents where safely accessible.
- Carry out machine scrubbing, polishing, carpet cleaning, and other specialized cleaning as scheduled.
- Participate in special cleaning activities as instructed by the supervisor.
- 7. Cleaning Materials & Equipment: Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment correctly and safely.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in proper working condition.
- Avoid wastage and misuse of cleaning materials.
- Inform the supervisor when cleaning materials or consumables are running low.
- Store chemicals and equipment safely in the designated area.
- 8. Safety & Hygiene: Follow all workplace safety and hygiene procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE such as gloves, masks, and safety shoes where required.
- Place warning signs such as “Wet Floor” during mopping or wet cleaning.
- Handle cleaning chemicals according to instructions.
- Immediately report accidents, hazards, spills, breakages, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain attendance and assigned duty records.
- Report maintenance defects such as broken lights, leaking taps, damaged furniture, blocked drains, etc.
- Coordinate with the client representative and supervisor regarding additional cleaning requirements.
- Maintain professional behavior and confidentiality while working inside the client's premises.
- 10. Staff Discipline & Professional Conduct: Report to duty on time and wear the prescribed uniform and ID card.
- Maintain personal hygiene and a neat appearance.
- Be polite, professional, and cooperative with employees and visitors.
- Do not use or handle client property without authorization.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding office information and activities.
- Follow the instructions of the Housekeeping Supervisor and authorized client representative.
