A JCB operator runs heavy machinery like backhoe loaders and excavators safely and well on work sites. They dig soil, move heavy loads, and help build roads or buildings. They also check and clean their machines every day. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Duties
- Run JCB backhoe loaders, excavators, and loaders to dig, load, and lift items.
- Follow strict safety rules on the work site.
- Look over the machine daily to check oil, water, and parts.
- Do small fixes and report big machine problems.
- Talk with project bosses and team workers to get work done on time.
- Keep a log book of daily work hours and fuel use.
Skills Needed
- Know how to handle heavy machine controls and hydraulic systems.
- Have a valid heavy vehicle or JCB operator license.
- Fit and strong to sit for long hours and work outside in all weather.
- Basic school education or mechanical training.
