Responsibilities for a Laptop Repair Technician:

🔧 Technical Duties

1. Diagnose Hardware Issues: Identify problems with components like the motherboard, RAM, hard drives, battery, keyboard, screen, etc.
2. Repair or Replace Components: Perform repairs or replace faulty parts (e.g., screens, keyboards, fans, ports).
3. Software Troubleshooting: Fix operating system issues, driver conflicts, and application errors.
4. Virus and Malware Removal: Detect and remove malicious software and ensure system security.
5. Data Backup and Recovery: Safeguard data before repairs and recover lost data when possible.
6. Install and Configure Software: Install operating systems, productivity tools, and necessary drivers.
7. BIOS and Firmware Updates: Update BIOS/UEFI settings or firmware for hardware compatibility.
8. System Optimization: Improve laptop performance by cleaning, defragmenting, or upgrading software/hardware.

🛠️ Maintenance & Upgrades

1. Routine Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean internal components and ensure proper ventilation.
2. Hardware Upgrades: Upgrade RAM, storage drives, or other components based on client needs.

💬 Customer Service

1. Client Communication: Explain issues, repairs, and options to clients in understandable terms.
2. Cost Estimates: Provide repair cost estimates and get customer approval before proceeding.
3. Service Reports: Document all diagnostics, repairs, parts replaced, and services performed.

🧾 Administrative & Operational

1. Inventory Management: Keep track of repair tools, spare parts, and equipment.
2. Warranty Checks and Claims: Verify warranty coverage and process warranty service if applicable.
3. Compliance and Safety: Follow safety procedures and proper handling of electronic components.
