Planning Engineer – Civil

Key Requirements

* Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

* Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project planning.

* Strong knowledge of civil construction drawings, BOQ, specifications and quantity details.

* Ability to understand and interpret structural, architectural and civil drawings.

* Preparation and monitoring of daily, weekly and monthly work programmes.

* Knowledge of manpower deployment planning and productivity monitoring.

* Planning and management of materials, equipment, tools & tackles and other site resources.

* Preparation of daily progress reports, weekly progress reports and MIS*.

* Monitoring planned vs. actual progress and identifying delays with corrective actions.

* Coordination with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and client representatives.

* Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.

* Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera will be an added advantage.

* Good communication, coordination and reporting skills.

* Ability to work independently at the project/site location.

Major Responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed project execution schedules and activity-wise programmes.

2. Plan manpower and resources according to project requirements.

3. Monitor site progress against the approved schedule.

4. Prepare DPR/WPR and progress monitoring reports.

5. Coordinate drawing requirements and identify drawing-related constraints.

6. Track material and equipment requirements in line with the construction programme.

7. Prepare look-ahead plans for 7 days, 15 days and 30 days.

8. Highlight delays, constraints and critical activities to management.

9. Maintain proper planning records and update project schedules regularly.

10. Support the Project Manager in achieving time, cost and productivity targets
