Core Responsibilities

1. Site Measurement & Estimation

Before a single drop of paint hits the wall, the supervisor ensures accuracy in materials and quoting.

• Laser & Manual Measurements: Measuring wall and ceiling surface areas accurately using laser distance measurers or tape measures.

• Deduction Calculations: Correctly subtracting the area of doors, windows, and structural openings from the total square footage to calculate the exact paintable surface.

• Material Estimation: Estimating the exact volume of primer, putty, and paint needed, accounting for structural textures and wastage.

2. Quality Control & Technical Supervision

Supervising the physical application to ensure it meets structural and aesthetic standards.

• Surface Inspection: Checking walls for dampness, cracks, undulations, or peeling plaster before painting begins.

• Process Enforcement: Ensuring the crew follows the correct sequence of application (e.g., scraping → washing → putty → primer → first coat → second coat).

• Thickness & Finish Checks: Verifying that paint is applied uniformly without brush marks, drips, or patchy spots.

3. Team & Resource Management

Managing the labor force and keeping materials organized.

• Labor Allocation: Assigning tasks to skilled painters and helpers based on the daily project timeline.

• Inventory Control: Tracking paint stock on-site to prevent theft, wastage, or shortages that could halt production.

4. Safety & Client Communication

• Safety Protocols: Ensuring workers wear appropriate PPE (masks, goggles, harnesses for heights) and that scaffolding is secure.

• Client Updates: Handling day-to-day client queries, explaining progress, and managing sign-offs for completed sections.
