Job Summary

We are looking for a Wiring Technician to handle the installation, wiring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical control panels and panel boards at customer/project sites.

The ideal candidate should have a strong practical understanding of electrical wiring, be able to read electrical drawings and schematics, and have hands-on knowledge of panel components and electrical testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out control panel and panel board wiring as per electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Install and terminate cables, control wires, power cables, ferrules, lugs, terminals, and other electrical accessories.

Mount and connect electrical components such as MCB, MCCB, contactors, relays, overload relays, timers, meters, terminal blocks, PLCs, VFDs, etc.

Read and interpret SLD, GA drawings, control circuit diagrams, and wiring diagrams.

Perform cable routing, dressing, ferruling, crimping, and proper termination.

Carry out continuity checks, insulation checks, and basic electrical testing using a multimeter, clamp meter, and megger.

Assist in panel testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and fault rectification.

Visit customer/project sites in and around Chennai and other locations in Tamil Nadu when required.

Ensure proper installation and functioning of panels and electrical systems at site.

Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Electrical Engineer, customer, contractors, and other site personnel.

Ensure all work is completed according to quality, safety, and project requirements.

Maintain proper documentation, testing reports, checklists, and site work records.

Follow electrical safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping at the worksite.

Required Qualification

Mandatory:

ITI in Electrical / Electrician / Wireman, OR

Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) / Electrical Engineering.

ITI Wireman training specifically includes control-panel wiring, mounting control elements, securing cables, and testing panel circuits. 

Required Skills

Good knowledge of electrical wiring and panel assembly.

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.

Knowledge of electrical components and control circuits.

Knowledge of cable termination, ferruling, crimping, and cable dressing.

Basic troubleshooting skills.

Familiarity with electrical testing instruments.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to travel to project/customer sites as required.

Ability to work independently as well as under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Preferred Experience

Experience in control panel wiring, panel board assembly, electrical installation, testing, or commissioning will be preferred.

ITI/Diploma and practical knowledge of panel wiring are also encouraged to apply.
