Area Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Generation

· Drive individual and team targets for retail or group health insurance policies.

· Conduct direct field sales, client meetings, and pitches to prospective individual policyholders, small businesses, or corporate accounts.

· Coordinate lead generation, cold-visiting, and local marketing activities in the assigned area.

2. Team & Agency Management (If AM / Lead level)

· Recruit, onboard, and train Field Sales Officers (FOS) and insurance agents.

· Guide, mentor, and motivate the field team to consistently hit daily, weekly, and monthly sales quotas.

· Conduct regular performance reviews, field audits, and joint-sales calls with FOS personnel.

3. Client Servicing & Compliance

· Educate clients on health insurance terms, coverage limits, claim processes, waiting periods, and network hospitals.

· Assist policyholders with renewals, documentation, and basic query or claim coordination.

· Ensure all sales practices comply with local insurance regulatory guidelines (such as IRDAI norms in India).

4. Market Intelligence & Reporting

· Track competitor health plans, pricing strategies, and local market trends.

· Maintain regular MIS (Management Information System) reports on sales pipelines, conversions, and team productivity.
