Computer Instructor

Key Responsibilities:

Mobile Lab Management: Safely transport, set up, manage, and pack down classroom sets of laptops (up to 20 units) for each school visit, ensuring proper handling and security of equipment.

Workshop Delivery: Deliver pre-designed 3 to 4 hour daily interactive workshops in collaboration with IIDA's IT Manager, designed specifically for young adolescents.

Classroom Facilitation: Maintain an engaging, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment for classes of 20 students, ensuring every student gets adequate hands-on keyboard and screen time.

Curriculum Execution: Teach core digital fundamentals using open-source software, including:

• Laptop handling, hardware basics, and typing and mouse navigation
• Setting up and managing email accounts safely
• Navigating the basic interface of free, open-source productivity software
• Practical writing exercises, including typing homework and drafting a basic personal resume or profile

Assessment and Reporting: Track student attendance, monitor individual progress, administer certificate completion criteria, and provide summary feedback to IIDA's project coordinators.

Technical Skills

• Good working knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems
• Comfort with open-source productivity suites and email platforms
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain digital concepts simply to young learners
