Data Entry Operator

About the RoleWe are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Executive to manage inventory records for our gold manufacturing unit. The role involves maintaining accurate digital records of raw gold, semi-finished, and finished jewelry stock as it moves through the production process — critical given the high value and strict traceability requirements of precious metal inventory.

Key Responsibilities•      Enter and update daily inward/outward stock data (gold bars, findings, stones, finished jewelry) into ERP/inventory software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or in-house jewelry ERP)

•      Record purity (karat), weight (gross/net/stone weight), and wastage details for each batch accurately

•      Maintain stock ledgers for raw material issued to karigars (artisans) and received back after manufacturing

•      Cross-check physical stock counts with system records; report discrepancies immediately

•      Generate and maintain daily/weekly/monthly stock reports for management

•      Update product codes, tags, hallmarking details, and barcode/QR data

•      Assist in stock audits, reconciliation, and stock-taking exercises

•      Maintain proper documentation for stock transfers between departments (melting, casting, polishing, setting, QC, dispatch)

•      Ensure data confidentiality given the sensitive nature of gold inventory

•      Coordinate with production, purchase, and accounts teams for data accuracy

•      File and organize physical vouchers, challans, and stock registers

Required Skills & Qualifications•      Minimum Qualification: Graduate (Degree in any discipline; Commerce background preferred)

•      Experience: 1–3 years of experience in data entry, preferably in jewelry/gold manufacturing or a similar high-value inventory environment

•      Availability: Immediate joiners only / candidates able to join within a short notice period

•      Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables preferred) and familiarity with ERP/inventory software

•      Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail (critical when handling weight/purity data)

•      Basic understanding of gold purity terms (24K, 22K, 18K), weight units (grams, carats, tola), and hallmarking

•      Good typing speed with high accuracy

•      Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality around sensitive stock data

•      Good communication skills to coordinate with production floor staff

Preferred (Good to Have)•      Prior experience in a jewelry manufacturing unit or bullion trading company

•      Familiarity with BIS hallmarking norms and compliance documentation

•      Experience with barcode/RFID-based inventory systems
