Job Description
1. Pre-operation checks
- Inspect the machine for faults or damage
- Check controls, tires, guardrails, and emergency systems
- Ensure the platform is safe to use before starting work
2. Safe operation
- Handling the MEWP to required heights and positions
- Maintain stability on different terrains
- Follow load limits and manufacturer guidelines
- Avoid hazards like power lines, uneven ground, or obstacles
3. Worker safety
- Ensure all occupants wear proper PPE (helmets, harnesses if required)
- Use guardrails and fall protection systems correctly
- Maintain clear communication with ground personnel
4. Site awareness
- Assess risks in the work area (weather, slopes, traffic, overhead hazards)
- Set up barriers or warning signs if needed
- Follow site safety rules and permits
5. Emergency handling
- Know how to use emergency lowering systems
- Respond to equipment failure or accidents
- Assist in rescue procedures if required
