Instrumentation Design
Role & Responsibilities:
- Basic and Detailed engineering of Instrumentation, Control, and Automation Systems for industrial and process plants, including steel plants, mining facilities, coal handling plants (CHP), raw material handling systems (RMHS), ports, and bulk material handling installations.
- Expertise in field instrumentation, control systems, industrial networks, PLC/DCS systems, and plant automation to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Develop and review key engineering deliverables, including Instrument Index, I/O List and I/O Calculations, Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Specifications & Control Philosophies and Functional Design Specifications
- Carry out selection, sizing, and specification of field instruments, including Pressure, Flow, Level, and Temperature Instruments, Control Valves and On-Off Valves, Analyzers and Gas Detection Systems, Belt Weighing Systems, etc.
- Perform UPS sizing calculations and control system engineering to ensure process safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare technical specifications, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluation documents for instrumentation and automation packages.
- Review vendor documents, software architecture, network layouts, and PLC/DCS configuration documents for compliance with project requirements.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant performance testing activities.
- Exposure to Telecommunications Systems including CCTV System, Public Address System, Telephone System
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications: Full-time MTech/BE/BTech/Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
Minimum years of experience & Industry Preference:
- 3-15 years of relevant experience in Instrumentation & Automation Engineering for Steel Plants, Mining Facilities, Coal and Raw Material Handling Systems, Ports, and Industrial Process Plants.
- Understanding of field instrumentation, control systems, industrial automation, and communication networks.
- Familiarity with IEC, ISA, IS, NEC, and other relevant national and international standards.
- Experience in engineering consultancy, design centres, or EPC organizations will be preferred.
