Mechanical Design Engineer

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing Module Mounting Structure (MMS) systems for solar projects. The role involves structural calculations, design validation, technical support, and continuous product improvement to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-performance solar mounting solutions.

• Qualifications & ExperienceB.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Design Engineering, preferably in the Solar Module Mounting Structures (MMS) industry
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and STAAD Pro
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and engineering principles
• Familiarity with international structural engineering standards and codes
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Experience in MMS manufacturing, solar structures, or renewable energy projects will be an added advantage
• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & EngineeringUnderstand customer requirements, project specifications, and site conditions to develop optimized MMS designs.
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D design models, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
• Design fixed-tilt, rooftop, ground-mounted, and other solar mounting structure solutions as per project requirements.
• Modify and optimize existing designs for cost efficiency, manufacturability, and structural performance.
• Structural Analysis & ValidationPerform structural calculations related to:
• Wind loads
• Dead loads
• Live loads
• Tilt angle optimization
• Structural stability
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity and load-bearing capacity of solar mounting profiles and assemblies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and project-specific requirements.
• Product Development & QualityParticipate in the development of new MMS products and structural profiles.
• Validate and inspect new profiles before commercial release.
• Identify opportunities for product improvement and standardization.
• Support testing and performance evaluation activities.
• Technical SupportProvide technical support to customers, project teams, and installation crews.
• Resolve design-related queries during project execution and installation.
• Assist in troubleshooting site issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
• Cross-Functional CollaborationCoordinate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, and Project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Work closely with vendors and suppliers to improve product quality and design efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in design processes and engineering standards.
