Job Description
1. Execute installation of gas pipelines, fittings, valves, regulators, meters and associated accessories as per approved drawings and site instructions.
2. Carry out internal gas pipeline installation in residential and high-rise buildings as per approved specifications.
3. Perform pipe cutting, threading, bending, fitting, support installation and other plumbing-related activities required for gas pipeline work.
4. Ensure proper alignment, routing, slope, supports and clearance of gas pipelines.
5. Carry out installation of GI/MDPE/PE and other approved piping systems as applicable to the project.
6. Assist in pressure testing, leak testing, purging and commissioning of gas pipeline systems under the supervision of the authorized site engineer/EIC.
7. Identify and rectify leakage, improper joints, damaged fittings and other defects observed during testing or inspection.
8. Ensure proper installation of clamps, brackets, sleeves, supports and protective arrangements for pipelines.
9. Follow approved Method Statements, SOPs, drawings, specifications and instructions issued by the company/site engineer.
10. Maintain good housekeeping at the work location and ensure that tools and materials are properly handled and stored.
11. Follow all applicable gas safety, work-at-height, hot-work, PPE and permit-to-work requirements.
12. Immediately report unsafe conditions, gas leakage, damaged pipelines, defective fittings or any abnormality to the supervisor.
13. Coordinate with civil, electrical, construction and other teams to avoid damage to existing utilities and completed gas pipeline work.
14. Assist in measurement and recording of completed work, material consumption and daily work progress.
15. Ensure that only approved materials, fittings and tools are used for gas pipeline installation.
16. Attend customer-related installation/rectification work professionally and maintain the required quality standards.
17. Perform any other gas pipeline/plumbing-related activities assigned by the Supervisor, Engineer or EIC.
