Position: Design Architect
Qualification: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
Experience: 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in architectural design, construction drawings, architect detailing, and coordination for public buildings, high-rise buildings, and large-scale projects.
Role Summary: We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Design Architect with strong experience in public buildings, high-rise buildings, and large-scale architectural projects. The role requires the ability to develop innovative design concepts, translate them into coordinated BIM-based design and construction drawing packages, prepare high-quality client presentations, support architectural detailing, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review shop drawings, and ensure statutory compliance throughout design development and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop architectural design concepts for public buildings, high-rise buildings, and large-scale projects from concept to design development stages.
- Prepare design presentations, concept narratives, diagrams, and visual material for client and stakeholder reviews.
- Develop, review, and coordinate architectural construction drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, façade details, toilet details, staircases, cores, finishes, schedules, and other key project details.
- Coordinate design development using BIM workflows, ensuring model-based collaboration across architectural, structural, MEP, façade, landscape, interior, and specialist consultant teams.
- Support estimation and quantification by reviewing design quantities, material take-offs, area statements, finish schedules, and inputs required for cost planning and tender documentation.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical clarifications, and vendor drawings to ensure alignment with design intent, specifications, coordination requirements, and statutory needs.
- Ensure design and documentation comply with applicable building codes, development control regulations, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and other statutory approvals.
- Work closely with project, construction, and site teams to resolve design coordination issues, RFIs, detailing gaps, and constructability concerns.
- Guide junior architects and BIM team members in design intent, detailing quality, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong architectural design sensibility with creativity, innovation, and problem-solving ability.
- Proven experience in public buildings, institutional projects, high-rise buildings, infrastructure-related buildings, or similar large-scale developments.
- Advanced BIM expertise, preferably in Revit and coordination-based digital design workflows.
- Strong architectural detailing ability with understanding of construction systems, materials, finishes, interfaces, service coordination, and buildability.
- Hands-on experience in construction drawing preparation, drawing review, interdisciplinary coordination, and documentation quality control.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance, building codes, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility norms, and approval-related documentation.
- Ability to review shop drawings, vendor submissions, material samples, and technical submittals against design intent and project specifications.
- Working understanding of estimation, quantification, material take-offs, finish schedules, and inputs required for tender or cost documentation.
- Strong client presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain design intent and technical solutions.
- Good leadership, mentoring, and review skills for guiding design, BIM, and documentation teams.
