Job Summary

The Restaurant Captain is responsible for supervising the service team and ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality restaurant operations. The role involves guest handling, team coordination, service standards, upselling, and maintaining overall guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

● Supervise and coordinate restaurant service staff during operations.

● Welcome guests, assist with seating, and ensure a warm and professional guest experience.

● Take food and beverage orders and ensure accurate and timely service.

● Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth order execution.

● Monitor table service, food presentation, and beverage service standards.

● Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally.

● Train and guide waiters and junior service staff on service standards and SOPs.

● Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and restaurant hygiene.

● Monitor billing and ensure accurate posting of orders and payments.

● Promote food, beverages, cocktails, and special offers through effective upselling.

● Coordinate reservations, special occasions, and guest requirements.

● Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily operational activities.

● Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory requirements.

● Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate daily promotions, events, and operational updates.

● Support opening and closing procedures, including cash, stock, and outlet handover where required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Minimum 2–4 years of experience in restaurant/hotel food & beverage operations.

● Previous experience as a Captain / Senior Steward / Team Leader preferred.

● Good knowledge of food and beverage service.

● Excellent communication and guest-handling skills.

● Strong leadership and team-coordination abilities.

● Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

● Good knowledge of POS/billing systems.

● Professional grooming and positive attitude.

● Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
