Category Engineer - Lab (SCQ - P)

A purpose driven role for you

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1. Product & Process Audit: Conducting supplier-end product and process audits based on sporadic issues, verifying PDI reports with marked samples, inspecting die and mold parts for disposal, and verifying TA marking, COP, and emission parameters.
2. Problem Analysis & Action Implementation: Identifying and validating root causes, monitoring effectiveness for non-conforming products (incoming lots, FI, MI, BUQI, and warranty defects), performing VTQI and KD analysis, and ensuring the submission and approval of supplier CAPAs against QFRs.
3. Supplier Upgradation: Facilitating, handholding, and upgrading suppliers, planning and executing IMP and special projects at supplier ends, and improving the quality assurance rates and PIST of critical parts.

A Day in the life

You will be working on day-to-day basis on following:
1. Conducting Product & Process Audits: Executing audits at supplier sites based on sporadic quality issues, as well as conducting multi-sourcing process audits and change management audits.
2. Verifying Inspection Reports & Samples: Checking Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) reports alongside marked samples and verifying Type Approval (TA) markings, Conformity of Production (COP), and emission parameters.
3. Handling Tooling & Part Disposal: Inspecting dies and mold parts that have reached their life-over stage to approve or oversee their proper disposal.
4. Analyzing Defects & Implementing Root Cause Actions: Identifying and validating root causes for non-conforming products across incoming lots, Final Inspection (FI), Manufacturing Inspection (MI), BUQI, and warranty defects.
5. Managing CAPAs & Action Plans: Ensuring suppliers submit Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans against Quality Failure Reports (QFRs), approving them, and verifying action plans through VTQI and KD analysis.
6. Supporting Supplier Development & Projects: Handholding suppliers, planning and executing Improvement (IMP) and special projects, and improving Quality Assurance (QA) rates and PIST for critical parts.
7. Sustaining New Model Quality & Mass Production: Managing quality and delivery compliance during new model launches, new supplier evaluations, and ongoing Mass Production (MP).

Academic Qualification & Experience

1. Education: B.Tech/ Diploma
2. Experience: 4–8 Years.

Technical Skills/Knowledge

1. Product & Process Expertise: In-depth product and process knowledge of Metallurgical and Paint processes, as well as laboratory testing and operations.
2. Quality & Core Tools: Proficiency in Quality Core Tools, including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and MSA (Measurement System Analysis).
3. Audit Expertise: Expert-level auditing skills for evaluating suppliers, multi-sourcing processes, and change management.
4. Advanced Problem Solving: Advanced structured problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement action plans (e.g., CAPA, 8D).
5. Design & Tooling Standards: Practical knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering design, and tool design & validation.
