Academic Counselor

We are looking for a motivated and student-focused Academic Counselor to guide students and working professionals in choosing the right software training programs based on their educational background, career goals, and interests.

The candidate will be responsible for handling student enquiries, conducting counseling sessions, explaining course and placement opportunities, following up with leads, and converting genuine enquiries into admissions.

• Key ResponsibilitiesCounsel students, graduates, and working professionals regarding suitable IT/software courses.
• Understand students' educational background, interests, career goals, and skill gaps.
• Explain course curriculum, duration, fees, learning methodology, projects, certifications, internships, and placement assistance.
• Handle enquiries through phone calls, walk-ins, WhatsApp, social media, website leads, and other digital platforms.
• Conduct one-to-one counseling and course orientation sessions.
• Follow up with prospective students and maintain regular communication.
• Convert qualified enquiries into course admissions while maintaining a student-first approach.
• Maintain accurate lead, follow-up, and admission records using CRM/Excel/Google Sheets
• Stay updated on current IT industry trends and popular technologies such as Python, Java, Full Stack Development, Data Science, AI/ML, Cloud, Testing, and DevOps.
• Address student and parent queries professionally.
• Collect student feedback and maintain good relationships throughout the training journey.
• Work towards monthly enquiry, counseling, and admission targets.
• Required SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good counseling, convincing, and negotiation abilities.
• Strong follow-up and relationship-building skills.
• Basic understanding of the IT/software industry.
• Ability to explain technical courses in simple language.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Google Sheets, WhatsApp, and CRM tools.
• Target-oriented and self-motivated.
• Professional and positive attitude.
• English and Tamil communication skills preferred.
• Qualification & ExperienceAny Bachelor's degree.
• 0–3 years of experience in Academic Counseling, Educational Sales, EdTech, Telecalling, Customer Relationship Management, or Training Institutes.
• Freshers with excellent communication and convincing skills may also apply.
• Previous experience in an IT training institute will be an added advantage.
