Production Officer

Role:

To supervise day-to-day production activities in a food processing plant, ensuring production targets, product quality, food safety, and efficient utilization of manpower, raw materials, and packaging materials for products such as ketchup, jam, squash, sauces, and other processed food products.

Functional Responsibilities

• Execute daily production plans for food products as per production schedules and achieve output targets.
• Supervise production operators and ensure proper manpower utilization, discipline, and work allocation.
• Monitor food processing operations, including raw material preparation, ingredient mixing, batch preparation, processing, filling, and packing, as applicable to the product.
• Ensure ingredients and packaging materials are used as per approved recipes, batch cards, and production specifications.
• Monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, time, and filling weight to ensure consistent product quality.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, hygiene practices, CIP/COP, SOPs, and food safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the Quality Department for in-process quality checks, product sampling, and corrective actions in case of deviations.
• Monitor production yield, material consumption, wastage, machine downtime, and overall production efficiency.
• Ensure proper operation and cleaning of processing and packaging equipment, and coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain batch manufacturing records, production reports, material reconciliation, and shift handover records.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environment procedures, including proper handling and disposal of waste and chemicals.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and other departments to ensure smooth production operations and timely product availability.
