JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTS HEADDesignation: Accounts Head
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Managing Director / Director Finance
Location: As per Company Requirement
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position SummaryThe Accounts Head shall be responsible for managing the overall accounting, taxation, financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury management, budgeting, and internal control functions of the Company. The incumbent will ensure accurate financial records, timely statutory compliance, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & ReportingOversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintenance of books of accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, and Balance Sheet.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- 2. Taxation & Statutory ComplianceEnsure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, Labour Laws, and other applicable regulations.
- Review and file GST returns, TDS returns, and statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and government authorities.
- Handle departmental notices, assessments, and reconciliations.
- 3. Audit ManagementCoordinate and facilitate Internal Audit, Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, and GST Audit.
- Ensure timely submission of required documents and information.
- Implement audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls.
- 4. Budgeting & Financial PlanningPrepare annual budgets and monitor budget utilization.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide management reports.
- Support management in financial forecasting and strategic planning.
- 5. Cash Flow & Treasury ManagementMonitor cash flow requirements and working capital management.
- Manage banking relationships and banking transactions.
- Ensure optimum utilization of company funds.
- Supervise vendor payments and customer collections.
- 6. Accounts Receivable & Payable ManagementMonitor customer outstanding balances and collection efficiency.
- Review vendor payments and ensure timely settlements.
- Maintain debtor and creditor reconciliations.
- 7. MIS & Management ReportingPrepare periodic MIS reports for management review.
- Analyze business performance and financial indicators.
- Present financial data and recommendations to senior management.
- 8. Team LeadershipLead and supervise the Accounts & Finance Team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Train and develop team members on accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- 9. Internal Controls & Risk ManagementDevelop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure adequate internal financial controls.
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective measures.
- Educational QualificationChartered Accountant (CA) / CMA (Preferred)
- M.Com / MBA Finance / B.Com with relevant experience
- ExperienceMinimum 7 to 12 years of experience in Accounts & Finance.
- At least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience in retail, trading, manufacturing, or multi-location business operations will be preferred.
- Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting.
- Expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, Busy, SAP, or other ERP systems.
- Advanced MS Excel and MIS reporting skills.
- Knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting.
