Business Development Executive (BDE)

Inscribe IQ is looking for energetic and target-driven Business Development Executives for our Publication Division.

The role involves connecting with research scholars, academicians, faculty members, PhD scholars and professionals who are looking for research publication assistance. You will be responsible for handling inbound leads, understanding publication requirements, recommending suitable solutions and converting enquiries into successful business.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound leads generated through digital marketing campaigns, WhatsApp and other channels.
• Connect with researchers, PhD scholars, faculty members and academicians through calls and WhatsApp.
• Understand the customer's publication requirement, including research domain, manuscript status, journal preference, indexing requirement and expected timeline.
• Explain available journal publication options and services clearly to prospective customers.
• Counsel customers regarding publication opportunities across journals indexed/listed in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, ABDC and other relevant platforms, where applicable.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with interested prospects and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Convert qualified publication enquiries into paid customers and achieve assigned monthly sales and collection targets.
• Coordinate with the internal publication/operations team after order confirmation.
• Maintain accurate customer information, follow-up status, payment details and sales updates in the CRM/tracking system.
• Build long-term relationships with researchers and generate repeat business and referrals.
• Follow up on pending payments and ensure timely collections.
• Maintain professional and transparent communication with customers throughout the sales process.

Candidate Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in Business Development, Inside Sales, Academic Counselling, Education Sales or Tele-sales.
• Freshers with excellent communication and sales aptitude can also apply.
• Strong verbal communication and convincing skills.
• Comfortable handling customers through phone calls and WhatsApp.
• Strong follow-up and negotiation ability.
• Target-oriented and comfortable working with monthly revenue goals.
• Basic knowledge of research publications, journals, PhD/research ecosystem, Scopus, Web of Science, etc. is an advantage.
• Candidates with previous experience in publication sales, research services, EdTech, education counselling or academic services will be preferred.
