Job Description
About the Role we are looking for a hands-on and responsible HR Executive / HR Generalist who has strong experience in managing blue-collar employees, payroll, statutory compliance, and day-to-day HR operations.
The ideal candidate should be well-versed in ESIC, PF, labour laws, salary processing, attendance management, employee documentation, and workforce handling. The person should be comfortable working directly with shop-floor/field employees and resolving employee-related issues professionally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Blue-Collar Workforce Management
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle for blue-collar workers, including joining, documentation, attendance, transfers, and exits.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, absenteeism, and workforce-related issues.
- Coordinate with supervisors and department heads for manpower requirements.
- Ensure proper onboarding and induction of new employees.
- Maintain employee discipline and a positive working environment.
- Handle employee queries related to salary, attendance, leave, PF, ESIC, and other HR matters.
2. Payroll & Salary ProcessingPrepare and process monthly salaries for employees.
- Verify attendance, overtime, leave, incentives, deductions, advances, and other salary components.
- Ensure accurate salary calculations and timely payroll closure.
- Coordinate with accounts/finance for salary disbursement.
- Prepare payroll reports and salary-related MIS.
- Maintain proper salary and employee records.
3. PF & ESIC ComplianceHandle EPF/PF and ESIC registration and employee-related processes.
- Ensure timely submission of PF and ESIC contributions and related compliance.
- Manage employee additions, exits, corrections, and updates on relevant portals.
- Assist employees with PF/ESIC-related queries and claims.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation.
4.Labour Law & Statutory ComplianceEnsure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Maintain records/registers required under applicable labour regulations.
- Support compliance related to wages, working hours, overtime, leave, holidays, minimum wages, and employee welfare.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors, and government authorities when required.
- Stay updated on changes in labour laws and statutory requirements.
5. Attendance & Leave ManagementManage daily attendance and absenteeism records.
- Monitor late coming, overtime, shift attendance, and leave.
- Reconcile attendance data before monthly payroll processing.
- Coordinate with department supervisors to resolve attendance discrepancies.
6. HR Documentation & RecordsMaintain accurate employee personnel files and HR documentation.
- Ensure timely collection of KYC and joining documents.
- Maintain records related to attendance, leave, payroll, PF, ESIC, and employee exits.
- Prepare HR reports and MIS as required by management.
7. Employee RelationsAct as the first point of contact for blue-collar employees regarding HR-related matters.
- Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns.
- Support disciplinary procedures and documentation when required.
- Build good relationships with workers, supervisors, and management.
- Required Skills & QualificationsGraduate in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in HR operations, preferably with a significant blue-collar workforce.
- Good working knowledge of PF, ESIC, payroll, attendance, and statutory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Indian labour laws.
- Hands-on experience in salary preparation and payroll processing.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and HR/payroll software.
- Strong communication and employee-handling skills.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day HR operations.
- Practical, approachable, and capable of handling shop-floor/field employees.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, construction, facility management, retail operations, or other blue-collar intensive industries will be preferred.
