Role Description
The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site position based in Ghaziabad, responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications for patients receiving cancer and related treatments. The role includes reviewing and validating prescriptions, checking for drug interactions, dosage accuracy, and contraindications, and preparing chemotherapy and supportive medications in accordance with clinical protocols and safety guidelines. The Staff Pharmacist will counsel patients and caregivers on proper medication use, side effects, and storage, and collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize therapy and support treatment plans. Daily tasks also involve maintaining inventory, monitoring expiry dates, adhering to regulatory and hospital pharmacy standards, documenting interventions, and participating in audits and quality improvement activities. The role requires consistent compliance with infection control measures, safe handling of cytotoxic drugs, and active contribution to a patient-focused care environment.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge with experience in oncology or hospital pharmacy, including safe handling and preparation of chemotherapy and other high-risk medications.
- Proficiency in prescription review, medication reconciliation, and identification of potential drug interactions, dosage errors, and contraindications.
- Ability to counsel patients and caregivers effectively, with clear, compassionate communication about medication use, side effects, and adherence.
- Competence in inventory management, including stock rotation, expiry tracking, and ensuring continuous availability of essential medicines.
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and basic electronic health record (EHR) usage for order entry, documentation, and reporting.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work accurately under time constraints in a high-acuity clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, infection control, and adherence to national and local regulatory standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm) from an accredited institution; valid pharmacy registration/license as applicable.
- Prior experience in oncology, hospital, or clinical pharmacy is highly desirable; fresh graduates with strong clinical training may also be considered.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ghaziabad and collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare
