Food & Accommodation: Not provided — local candidates preferred
2. ABOUT THE ROLE
IWLD runs a residential weight-loss programme at its Benaulim campus. Residents live on site, eat from our kitchen, and follow IWLD’s method. The Fitness Trainer runs their daily exercise — group sessions and individual guidance — so that residents move safely and consistently throughout their stay.
Most residents are not gym regulars. Many are starting from a low fitness base, and some come with health conditions — thyroid, blood pressure, diabetes, joint problems. This is not a role for pushing people to their limit. It is a role for getting people moving every day without getting hurt, and keeping them coming back tomorrow.
The residential hostel is a ladies’ hostel, and the role involves one-to-one physical training and correction of female residents. It is therefore open to female candidates.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Daily Sessions
- Plan and run the daily exercise sessions for residents as per the hostel schedule — group workouts, walks, mobility and strength work suited to beginners.
- Adjust each exercise to the level of the person doing it; give easier versions without making anyone feel singled out.
- Demonstrate correctly, watch form closely, and correct it before it causes an injury.
- Warm up and cool down properly, every session, without exception.
- Keep sessions consistent and encouraging so residents actually attend.
B. Working Within Each Resident’s Health Declaration
- Read each resident’s Health Undertaking & Medical Declaration before she starts training, and plan within it.
- Where a resident has a declared condition or restriction, follow it strictly and ask the Hostel Coordinator if anything is unclear.
- Stop any exercise immediately if a resident reports chest pain, dizziness, breathlessness beyond normal effort, or sharp pain — and inform the Hostel Coordinator at once.
- Never push a resident beyond what her declaration and her condition on the day allow.
C. Boundaries of the Role
- Nutrition and diet are not part of this role. Residents follow IWLD’s method; the trainer does not give diet advice, meal suggestions or calorie targets.
- Never recommend, sell or endorse supplements, fat burners, protein products or any medication.
- Never comment on a resident’s medicines or advise her to change them. Refer her to her doctor through the Hostel Coordinator.
- Never promise a result — no promised weight loss, inches lost or timeline.
- Keep conduct with residents professional at all times, and keep what you learn about their health confidential.
D. Records & Reporting
- Maintain daily attendance for every session.
- Record any injury, discomfort or incident on the same day and report it to the Hostel Coordinator.
- Keep progress notes on each resident’s exercise capacity as instructed, so the next trainer or coordinator can see where she is.
- Flag residents who are regularly missing sessions.
E. Equipment & Space
- Keep the exercise area and equipment clean, safe and in order.
- Check equipment regularly and report anything damaged or unsafe before it is used.
- Make sure the space is ready before each session and left tidy after it.

5. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves
- Practical experience training people — in a gym, studio, or as a personal or group trainer.
- Sound knowledge of correct exercise form and of safe progressions for beginners.
- Patient and encouraging with people who are unfit, nervous or overweight — never mocking or harsh.
- Takes health restrictions seriously and knows when to stop an exercise.
- Comfortable communicating in Hindi. English, Konkani or Marathi in addition is useful.
- Punctual and reliable, and a good example of discipline to residents.
- Willing to learn and to get certified if not already.
Good to Have
- A recognised fitness-training certification.
- First aid or CPR training.
- Experience training women, older clients, or clients with health conditions.
- Yoga, mobility or rehabilitation-style training experience.
6. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Residents attend sessions regularly and stay active through their whole stay.
- No injuries caused by training, and every discomfort reported and handled the same day.
- Every resident trains within her health declaration.
- Not a single diet tip, supplement recommendation or promised result from this role.
7. WHY JOIN US
- A permanent, full-time job with a settled company of 160+ people, not seasonal work.
- A fixed shift with a defined weekly off, so your day is predictable.
- Clear duties, written down, with training given on how we want each one done.
- Honest treatment, timely salary, and the chance to grow with the company as it grows.
8. NOTE
Selection for this role includes a paid trial session with residents. Full briefing on IWLD’s programme, the health declaration process and the hostel schedule is provided on joining.
