Job Title: Woodworking Expert / Wood Specialist Location: Gurgaon Department: Construction/Design/Furniture Manufacturing Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Woodworking Expert to join our team at Satin neo dimensions pvt ltd.. The ideal candidate will have expertise in understanding different wood types, lengths, and cutting techniques for various retail, commercial, and high-end projects such as airports, metro stations, and furniture for luxury or modern settings. You will be responsible for planning, sourcing, cutting, and constructing wood elements in line with detailed specifications for quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Key Responsibilities: ● Wood Selection and Knowledge: o Select appropriate wood types based on project requirements (e.g., hardwood, softwood, engineered wood, plywood, MDF, and veneers). o Possess deep knowledge of wood properties, such as grain, strength, flexibility, moisture content, and finish compatibility. o Stay updated on new wood treatments, techniques, and eco-friendly options suitable for large-scale commercial or high-end furniture projects. ● Wood Cutting and Processing: o Accurately measure and cut wood to specified lengths, ensuring high precision and minimal waste. o Operate woodcutting machinery, such as saws (circular, band, or table saws), routers, and planers, safely and efficiently. o Plan the layout for cutting patterns to optimize material use and avoid wastage. ● Wood Joinery: o Apply knowledge of various wood joinery techniques (e.g., dovetail joints, butt joints, finger joints, mortise, and tenon) to create strong, durable connections. o Ensure precision in creating joints that meet the aesthetic and structural requirements of the project. ● Project-Specific Expertise: o Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to understand the scope of commercial and high-profile projects (retail stores, airports, metro stations, furniture pieces for luxury spaces). o Provide expert advice on how to incorporate woodwork into the overall design of the project. o Ensure that all wooden elements comply with safety standards and building codes. ● Installation and Assembly: o Oversee the assembly and installation of wooden elements in large-scale projects, including retail stores, commercial spaces, and furniture installations for businesses. o Supervise the finishing process, ensuring wood surfaces are smoothly sanded, stained, and varnished for an aesthetic finish. o Ensure that all wooden structures are properly secured and safe for use. ● Material Management: o Estimate and source wood and other related materials based on project requirements, managing quantities to minimize waste and ensure cost efficiency. o Ensure that wood materials are stored properly to maintain their integrity and prevent damage. ● Maintenance & Quality Control: o Inspect all finished wood products for quality, ensuring that they meet the design specifications and construction standards. o Perform regular maintenance of woodworking equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety. Qualifications & Skills: ● Experience: o 4 years of experience in woodworking, wood cutting, and construction projects. o Experience working on commercial projects, retail store fit-outs, or metro/airport constructions is highly preferred. o Proven experience in furniture making, especially high-end or luxury furniture. ● Technical Skills: o knowledge of software tools such as AutoCAD is required. Knowledge of SolidWorks will be an added advantage. o Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery (saws, routers, drills, planers, etc.). o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design sketches, and technical drawings. o Skilled in measuring and cutting wood with precision. ● Knowledge: o Deep understanding of different types of wood, their properties, and suitable uses for various construction and furniture-making projects. o Familiarity with sustainable and eco-friendly wood options and industry standards. ● Soft Skills: o Attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality, aesthetic, and durable woodwork. o Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, architects, and project teams. o Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment. Preferred Qualifications: ● Certification in carpentry, woodworking, or a related field. ● Experience with CNC machines or other automated woodworking systems. ● Knowledge of modern wood finishes and treatments. ● Experience in retail store or airport interior design projects. Working Conditions: ● Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings. ● Physical work may involve lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and using power tools. ● Occasional travel to project sites. ● Regular working hours with the possibility of extended hours depending on project deadlines. ● Exposure to loud noises, dust, and heavy machinery. ● Team collaboration is essential, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
