Job Description

We invite you to bring your CAD design expertise, professionalism and skills into play as you contribute to the continuing growth and development of the aviation business in Ramboll. You will join our Aviation department:

As our new CAD Lead, you will work with the team to deliver work in close collaboration with Ramboll colleagues based across the business. You will be part of the Aviation team in India. You will work as part of a lively team, filled with people who are really excited about creating the solutions for the future. Our team is vibrant, innovative, international, and supportive. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in defining and delivering projects. Based on a strong future pipeline of work we are now looking to expand the team. The role requires an inquisitive mind, capable of developing innovative and sustainable outcomes to support our clients.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • The CAD Lead - Civil (Aviation) is responsible for leading CAD/BIM production and design documentation activities for airport infrastructure projects.
  • Manage the preparation and review of civil engineering drawings, including airside and landside works.
  • Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards, templates, workflows, and quality procedures.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, aviation planners, architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Ensure all drawings and models comply with project requirements, client standards, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor resource allocation, work schedules, and project deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct quality checks and technical reviews of CAD deliverables.
  • Support BIM implementation and digital engineering initiatives where applicable.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior CAD team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with global delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Drafting Technology, or related discipline
  • 14+ years of experience in CAD production for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in aviation/airport projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant BIM tools, working knowledge of MicroStation preferred.
  • Knowledge of airport design standards, civil engineering drawing practices, and construction documentation.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
