Roles & responsibilities
Work closely with the Partner and Directors in the Australia Audit & Assurance practice, your role will include two broad focus areas:
Client Delivery
Lead a portfolio of listed and private audit engagements, partnering closely with Australia Partners, Directors and KGS teams to deliver high‑quality, compliant, and timely audits.
Direct IFRS/ISA audits for complex multinational organisations.
Lead and build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders, driving proactive engagement, resolving complex issues and ensuring timely delivery throughout the audit lifecycle.
Review audit workpapers to ensure high standards of documentation quality, consistency, and compliance with auditing standards.
Provide performance coaching, mentoring, and capability building across offshore teams to strengthen delivery and technical competence.
Drive effective collaboration across onshore and offshore locations, coordinating deliverables and resolving technical and operational challenges.
Contribute to internal training programmes and actively promote knowledge sharing across the practice.
Support innovation and continuous improvement in audit delivery through the use of digital, analytical, and emerging audit tools.
Practice Development
Provide support in people development, capability building, strategy, innovation, and audit quality in the Australian ADC practice and, where relevant, the wider Sydney audit team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key onshore member‑firm stakeholders, acting as a primary point of contact.
Lead audit quality initiatives and foster a strong culture of learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to and drive strategic initiatives linked to our ‘Innovate and explore’ strategy, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
Motivate, develop, and coach Managers, Assistant Managers, and Seniors to deliver high‑quality outcomes and grow as effective leaders.
Ensure rigorous adherence to the firm’s risk and compliance framework, developing mitigation plans for key business risks.
Attract, develop, and retain high‑quality talent aligned to the firm’s growth and capability agenda.
Champion a high‑performance culture and position KGS Audit as the clear choice for current and future talent.
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
Professional Chartered Accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA or CA)
Degree in Commerce / Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting.
Other qualifications, if any (will be an added advantage)
Work experience
8+ years of experience within a Big 4 firm, with demonstrated experience serving both listed and private international clients.
Prior experience of leading large, complex group audits and coordinating multiple engagement teams.
Demonstrated experience auditing shared service centres, centralised functions and multinational business processes with direct client facing responsibilities.
Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working directly with senior finance leaders.
Strong working knowledge and hands‑on experience with IFRS and equivalent reporting standards.
Performed and supported internal and external inspections; and clearly demonstrating individual’s role in receiving a Compliant rating.
