Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise the entire kitchen team.
- Prepare authentic South Indian dishes such as Idli, Dosa, Vada, Uttapam, Pongal, Sambar, Rasam, Poori, meals, chutneys, etc.
- Ensure consistent taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
- Maintain standard recipes and cooking procedures.
- Plan daily preparation and ensure adequate mise-en-place before service.
- Monitor food quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Manage food wastage and control food costs.
- Check inventory and communicate ingredient requirements to the Manager.
- Train and supervise Helper Chefs and Kitchen Helpers.
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation and food-safety standards.
- Ensure proper storage and labelling of raw materials and prepared food.
- Coordinate with the Manager during breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
- Handle customer complaints related to food quality when required.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used properly and safely.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–7 years of relevant South Indian cooking experience.
- Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine.
- Experience handling a commercial/QSR kitchen.
- Ability to manage a small kitchen team.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
