Fitter

PortaSpaze is looking for a skilled and hands-on Fitter to join our installation and fabrication team. The candidate will be responsible for assembling, fitting, installing, modifying, and dismantling components used in portable cabins, container offices, modular structures, and site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and install structural and modular components of portable cabins and container structures.
• Perform fitting, drilling, cutting, grinding, and alignment of metal and other structural components.
• Read and understand basic fabrication drawings, measurements, and layouts.
• Install doors, windows, frames, partitions, roofing components, flooring and other fittings.
• Carry out on-site installation, dismantling, repair, and modification work.
• Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, level, and finishing of fitted components.
• Work with hand tools, power tools, drilling machines, grinders and other fitting equipment.
• Coordinate with welders, electricians, carpenters and other site technicians during installation.
• Inspect materials and components before and after installation.
• Identify fitting or structural issues and carry out necessary corrections.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping at the work site.
• Handle tools and equipment responsibly and ensure they are maintained properly.
• Travel to project sites when required for installation and service work.

Requirements:

• ITI / vocational training in Fitter, Welder, Fabrication or a related trade preferred.
• 1–5 years of relevant experience in fabrication, modular structures, container work, portable cabins or construction-related fitting.
• Good knowledge of measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding and fitting techniques.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and measurements.
• Comfortable working both at the workshop and project sites.
• Physically fit and comfortable working with tools and construction materials.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary site team.
