Production / Manufacturing Head

Company: Sree Lakshmi Kalamkari Works, Hyderabad

Business: Traditional hand-blocked and hand-painted Kalamkari textiles

Reports to: Owner / Director

Location: Hyderabad (on-site)

Employment: Full-time

Working hours: 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, including a lunch break

Working days: Saturday and Sunday are working days. One fixed weekday off.

Role Summary:

You will lead the production unit and also manage wholesale and bulk customers. You will make sure orders are produced to quality and dispatched on time, bring new designs into production, and grow and retain wholesale accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Production

• Plan daily and weekly production based on confirmed orders and stock.
• Lead and supervise block printers, painters, dyers, stitching staff and helpers, and assign work fairly.
• Keep fabric, dyes, blocks and other raw materials stocked and ordered on time.
• Maintain quality standards and reduce rejections, rework and wastage.
• Work with the Designer on sampling, dye and print trials, and bring at least 4 new designs into production every month.
• Keep daily production records and report on output, pending orders and delays.
• Maintain discipline, safety and cleanliness in the unit.

Wholesale

• Handle wholesale and bulk enquiries, including leads from IndiaMART, TradeIndia and walk-ins.
• Give quotes, take sample and bulk orders, and confirm delivery timelines with production.
• Build and keep relationships with wholesalers, boutiques, exporters and repeat buyers.
• Present new designs and collections to wholesale customers.
• Follow up on payments and keep outstanding balances within agreed credit terms.
• Work with the accounts team so orders, invoices and dispatches match.
• Share a weekly report on production, wholesale orders, conversions and pending follow-ups.

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in textile, handloom, garment or handicraft production.

• At least 1-2 years of experience dealing with wholesale buyers or B2B sales.
• Experience managing a team of artisans or production workers.
• Knowledge of Kalamkari or block printing is a strong advantage.
• Good communication in Telugu and Hindi. Basic English and working knowledge of Excel or Tally are preferred.
• Willing to work on Saturdays and Sundays, which are the busiest days for wholesale enquiries.

Compensation:

Fixed: ₹30,000 per month

Variable: up to ₹10,000 per month, based on:

• Wholesale sales target achievement
• On-time delivery and quality
• Collections and wastage control
• Targets and payout slabs are shared in writing at joining.
