Content Writer

CONTENT WRITER – TELUGU 

A creative, politically aware and digitally savvy Content Writer who understands Telugu internet culture, memes, humour, sarcasm, political communication and what works on Instagram. The candidate should be able to quickly identify relevant trends and turn ideas, current affairs, and political developments into engaging, relevant, shareable content. 

Responsibilities 

• Manage Instagram handles end-to-end, including content planning, posting, captions, hashtags and basic analytics. 

• Ideate memes, captions, hooks and content ideas for Instagram and other social media platforms. • Closely follow Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and national politics, current affairs and trending topics. • Identify trending topics and quickly turn them into relevant, timely and shareable content. • Understand Telugu meme language, political humour, slang, sarcasm, satire and internet culture. • Understand, compile and articulate political ideas, objectives and philosophy into public messaging, customised to the topic, speaker and intended audience. 

• Conceptualise and articulate politically relevant thematic ideas and statements for key political players. • Understand diverse inputs and effectively integrate them into coherent content and messaging. • Provide content, ideas and direction to designers and video editors and work closely with them to execute content. 

• Coordinate with designers, video editors and other internal teams to ensure timely execution. • Track content performance and continuously improve content based on reach, engagement, shares and other relevant metrics. 

• Stay updated with Instagram trends, algorithm changes, Reels formats, AI tools and emerging digital trends. 

• Create content for social media posts, ads and banners. 

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment. • Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate strong client-management skills and take ownership of performance and deliverables. 

Requirements 

• 21–27 years old. 

• Prior experience in Instagram content creation, with a strong understanding of the platform, its algorithm, content formats and what works for its audience. 

• 3–8 years of previous experience in content creation, preferably with an advertising agency (ATL/digital), brand or startup, ideally a regional brand. 

• Strong understanding of Telugu meme culture and political meme language. 

• Good political acumen and awareness of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and national politics. • Strong understanding of humour, timing, sarcasm, satire, slang and internet culture. • Well versed in Telugu and English, with a good understanding of grammar and writing styles. • Strong command of Hindi language and ability to create ideas and provide content and direction to Art Directors and Video Editors. 

• Strong communication and language skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively. • Ability to generate ideas quickly and respond rapidly to trending topics and current affairs. • Ability to work on short deadlines and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment. 

• Intelligent, passionate, self-driven and capable of demonstrating thought leadership. • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. 

• Minimum undergraduate qualification. 

• Should have created content for posts, ads and banners for social media in a previous role.

• Advanced knowledge of other Indian regional languages is an added advantage. • Willingness to work long hours and weekends, as required by the role.
