Electrical Engineer

2. Purpose of the Position

To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted electrical power and control-system availability for the IGA plant through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The person will be responsible not only for electrical equipment but also for supporting PLC, instrumentation, sensors, drives and process-control systems associated with the atomization plant.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Electrical Maintenance

Maintain, troubleshoot & rectify problems

• HT/LT electrical systems, HT/LT panels, Transformers, MCCs, Distribution boards, Motors, Cryogenic-system electrical equipment, Induction melting furnace electrical system, IGBT power-conversion system, Heating/power-control systems, Earthing and lightning-protection systems, Emergency power systems, Lighting and utility electrical systems etc

B. PLC & Automation

• Maintain PLC-based control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs.
• Check sensors, switches and transmitters.
• Maintain control panels and interlocks.
• Monitor alarms and trip histories.
• Support HMI/SCADA systems where provided.
• Maintain proper backup of PLC programs and parameters.
• Coordinate with OEM/service engineers for major PLC or automation problems.

C. Safety

Strictly enforce electrical safety procedures including:

• Permit-to-work, Lock-out/tag-out, Isolation and discharge, Proper earthing, Electrical PPE, Emergency shutdown procedures etc

4. Qualification

Preferred:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.

Additional training in:

• Industrial automation
• PLC
• Drives
• Instrumentation
• Electrical safety

will be advantageous.

5. Experience

Preferred: 5 to 6+  years of industrial electrical-maintenance experience.

Experience in any of the following is desirable:

• Manufacturing plants
• Induction furnaces
• High-frequency/IGBT power systems
• Foundries
• Metal-processing plants
• Vacuum systems
• Cryogenic systems
• PLC-controlled process plants

6. Technical Competencies

The candidate should be capable of independently handling:

• Motor and starter troubleshooting
• MCC/LT-panel troubleshooting
• Drives/VFDs
• Electrical protection systems
• IGBT power supplies
• PLC troubleshooting
• HMI systems
• Sensors and instrumentation
• Interlocks
• Emergency shutdown systems
• Electrical testing equipment

8. Salary : Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
