What you will do

The FP&A Manager will support JAPAC financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, consolidation, and continuous-improvement initiatives through accurate, timely, and decision-useful finance deliverables. This role will report to the Senior Manager of JAPAC Finance.

This role serves as a strategic finance partner, advancing financial and related cross functional planning excellence, automation, and data-driven decision-making. The Finance Manager will strengthen forecasting accuracy, streamline reporting, and embed AI and technology-enabled solutions across finance and cross-functional teams.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support the Senior Manager of JAPAC Finance as a key point of contact for Amgen India and JAPAC FP&A teams, coordinating day-to-day planning and reporting deliverables.
• Execute planning-cycle activities for forecasts, actuals, budgets, long-range plans, quarterly business reviews, and leadership outlooks, including data collection, consolidation, reasonableness checks, and commentary preparation.
• Maintain regional forecasting and reporting files, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely inputs to Excel-based templates and consolidation processes.
• Support planning and reporting systems activities across the forecasting cycle, including template preparation and alignment, Anaplan inputs, Hyperion loading, and master-data maintenance.
• Prepare management reporting materials, including Power BI dashboards, weekly sales reporting, PowerPoint presentations, and components-of-growth reviews.
• Analyze business performance and prepare clear financial commentary on growth drivers, investment trade-offs, forecast risks and opportunities, and market trends.
• Support budget coordination and expense-management activities, including purchase orders, SPOC and non-PO accruals, actuals tracking, and OPEX and T&E monitoring.
• Perform finance reviews of distributor claims, margins, free goods, royalties, profit-share arrangements, sales reconciliations, pricing set-up, contract-management activities, and related data validation.
• Identify and implement opportunities to standardize, automate, and continuously improve FP&A processes, templates, reporting tools, and data quality.
• Build trusted working relationships with JAPAC, US, and global finance stakeholders; share knowledge and provide day-to-day support to colleagues as needed.
• Ensure assigned deliverables are completed accurately and on time, escalating issues promptly to the Senior Manager of FP&A and communicating clearly with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Chartered accountant, Cost Accountant or a Master’s degree in Finance or Business & Administration with 8 to 12 years of accounting and/or finance  experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience
• Experience collaborating effectively across functions and multiple time zones
• Knowledge and understanding of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, management reporting, consolidation, and quarter-close activities
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, scenario planning, and advanced analytics.
• High digital fluency, including familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms (RPA), and large data concept
• Experience with ERP/EPM/BI systems (e.g., SAPS4, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau) and data-driven decision support.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate data into clear strategic insights.
• Strong project and change management skills in cross-functional, matrixed environments
• Strong attention to detail & ability to operate with a sense of urgency

Good To Have Skills:

• Experience working within a local affiliate in a global matrix organization.
• Strong understanding of commercial finance & analytics
• Familiarity with affiliate budgeting cycles (Plan, Forecast, LRS, Scenarios) and regional reporting requirements.
• Experience partnering closely with Business Unit leads and General Managers.
• Exposure to launch planning, lifecycle management, or portfolio re-prioritization at affiliate level.
