A Process Lead or Assistant Manager is responsible for thoroughly understanding compliance and tax-related activities and executing them with high quality within the designated timelines. The individual is expected to develop deep expertise in their assigned tasks and projects. This role emphasizes the execution of critical activities, addressing team queries, and delivering training sessions as needed. Timely and accurate responses to stakeholder and customer inquiries are essential, along with maintaining consistently high levels of accuracy in all processes. As a process owner, the individual should be approachable and supportive, fostering effective collaboration between the team and management.

 

• Responsible for managing the company’s end to end Sales and Use Tax compliance across all jurisdictions. 
• Calculate, file and remit sales and use tax returns in a timely manner. 
• Respond to notices, audits, and other enquiries from the tax authorities. 
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of US (SUT) Tax business domains of Indirect Tax laws, regulations, and best practices. 
• Focus on ensuring the company’s SUT compliance, provide subject matter expertise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve the sales and use tax processes. 
• Have good knowledge of Tax Exemptions documents.
• Stay up-to date with the changing tax laws and regulations. 
• Have excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• Have good understanding about the property tax process. 
• Prepare and submit applications for new business Licenses and registrations, as well as renewals. 
• Manages & meet deadlines on assigned projects, operational and adhoc activities and serves as a backup. 
• Provide training and guidelines to team members and internal stakeholders on taxation based on the requirements. 
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

· 7-9 years of relevant experience in US taxation, Sales and Use (SUT), preferred from Indirect Tax
· At least 3 years of experience in team management.
· MBA in Finance/Taxation (or) M. Com with Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com).
· Advanced knowledge in MS-Office (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
· Must have strong working knowledge on OneSource/Vertex.
· Good to have SalesForce user knowledge, but not mandatory.
