About the Role

Undiscovered Inventory is building a specialised B2B marketplace connecting companies holding new, unused surplus and stranded industrial inventory with businesses that may need it. We are looking for a curious, analytical Market Research Associate to help us identify markets, companies, products and commercial opportunities.

• Key ResponsibilitiesResearch industrial sectors and identify product categories where surplus, excess, obsolete or stranded inventory is likely to exist.
• Identify potential inventory holders, manufacturers, distributors, OEMs and industrial companies.
• Identify potential buyers and understand their product requirements, applications and sourcing patterns.
• Research industrial products, specifications, manufacturers, part numbers and alternatives.
• Build and maintain structured databases of companies, products, contacts and opportunities.
• Conduct competitor and B2B marketplace research.
• Track industry developments such as plant closures, technology changes, discontinued products and cancelled projects that may create inventory opportunities.
• Support lead generation and business development with actionable market intelligence.
• Use online research and AI tools to improve research efficiency and accuracy.
• Requirements0–3 years’ experience in market research, business research, B2B research or a related field.
• Strong internet research and Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical/industrial information.
• Engineering or industrial-sector exposure is an advantage.
• Curiosity, attention to detail and ability to independently investigate opportunities.
