Job Description – Senior Interior Designer (Residential Interiors)

Position: Senior Interior Designer – Residential Interiors

Location: Hyderabad

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 5–8 Years (Residential Interior Design)

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.

- Candidates from reputed Interior Design institutes are preferred.

- Practical residential interior design experience with a strong portfolio will be given higher priority than academic qualifications alone.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently handle clients from the initial consultation through design finalization and project handover.

- Understand clients' lifestyle, functional requirements, budget, and design preferences, and convert them into practical design solutions.

- Conduct site visits, take accurate measurements, and prepare detailed design briefs.

- Develop creative, functional, and premium residential interior concepts.

- Prepare 2D layouts, 3D visualizations, detailed production drawings, and working drawings.

- Design complete home interiors, including modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, crockery units, vanities, study units, beds, shoe units, pooja units, bar units, partitions, and customized furniture.

- Recommend and finalize colour schemes, laminates, veneers, acrylic finishes, PU finishes, quartz countertops, hardware, handles, lighting, wallpapers, furnishings, curtains, and accessories.

- Present design concepts confidently to clients and obtain design approvals.

- Prepare BOQs and coordinate with the estimation team.

- Ensure all designs are technically feasible and suitable for factory manufacturing.

- Coordinate closely with production, procurement, project management, and site execution teams for smooth implementation.

- Visit project sites whenever required to resolve design-related issues and ensure execution matches approved designs.

- Handle multiple residential projects while maintaining quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.

- Maintain complete project documentation, drawings, material specifications, and design records.

- Guide and mentor junior designers whenever required.

Required Skills

- Excellent client-handling, presentation, and communication skills.

- Strong expertise in residential interior space planning and visualization.

- Excellent creative, aesthetic, and design sense.

- Strong knowledge of colour coordination, materials, textures, lighting, and finishes.

- Expertise in designing modular kitchens, wardrobes, and customized furniture.

- Good understanding of plywood, HDHMR, MDF, block board, laminates, veneers, acrylic finishes, PU finishes, membrane finishes, quartz countertops, hardware, edge banding, lighting, wallpapers, and interior accessories.

- Good understanding of factory manufacturing processes and modular furniture production.

- Ability to prepare technically accurate production drawings suitable for manufacturing.

- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and project management skills.

- Ability to independently manage client meetings and multiple projects simultaneously.

- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 5–8 years of experience in residential interior design.

- Proven experience in independently handling clients from concept to project completion.

- Strong experience in modular kitchens, wardrobes, and complete home interior projects.

- Excellent portfolio demonstrating premium residential interiors.

- Good understanding of manufacturing drawings and execution processes.

- Strong coordination skills with production and execution teams.

- Excellent presentation, communication, and client relationship management skills.

- Ability to work independently and deliver projects within timelines.
