We're seeking a talented Senior Device Validation Engineer to analyse, debug, design and implement effective and scalable solutions that improve product quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Debug software issues on Surface products. 
• Design and implement solutions to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. 
• Drive development activities, including integration and configuration management. 
• Set up labs and automation frameworks. 
• Assist in building and maintaining telemetry pipelines. 
• Contribute to data modelling and reporting. 
• Maintain and improve telemetry dashboards. 
• Apply an understanding of real-time, embedded firmware along with solid troubleshooting and debugging skills to isolate and fix problems quickly. 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer, or Test or Validation Engineer, or equivalent experience. 
• 10+ years of experience developing and/or testing products across multiple release cycles in related fields. 
• 10+ years of experience programming or validating using applications or tools developed in C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Python, Visual Basic, JavaScript, or similar languages. 
• Professional experience in the development and/or validation of personal computing devices, tablets, mobile phones, or other mobile computer devices or accessories, gaming systems, or servers. 
• Experience developing and executing software testing methodologies, strategies, procedures, tools, and metrics.
• Experience developing, debugging, and/or validating one or more of the following on the Windows operating system: kernel-mode device drivers, firmware, or UEFI. 
• Experience sustaining or servicing products after launch. 
• Experience leading or managing external partner or services companies. 
• Experience debugging kernel-mode drivers or firmware. 
• Experience gathering and analyzing telemetry data to improve software reliability or performance.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
